Terms of Service
These terms cover the GroundNav desktop app, the groundnav.app website, GN Live (live.groundnav.app), and the GroundNav mobile companion app (together, “GroundNav”). By creating an account or using GroundNav you agree to them.

Who we are
GroundNav is currently operated by Kanegedeh Benedict, an individual based in Italy. You can reach us at support@groundnav.app.
Imperium Studios, the company GroundNav will operate under, is in the process of being formally registered as a legal entity. This is a temporary arrangement. Once registration is complete, this page and the Privacy Policy will be updated to name Imperium Studios as the operator instead.
GroundNav is a companion app for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It reads data from your simulator, your account, and third-party aviation data sources to give you dispatch tools, performance calculators, a persistent career mode, and (if you subscribe to Live Network) a live multiplayer layer connecting you to other pilots.
02
Accounts
You need a GroundNav account (email + password, or a supported sign-in provider) to use most of the app. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@groundnav.app if you think someone else has access to it.
Your purchase and trial status are tied to your account, not to a machine: sign in on a new PC and everything follows you. You must be old enough in your country to enter a binding contract, or have a parent/guardian’s consent, to purchase anything.
03
What you’re buying
GroundNav is sold as two separate products, and you can own either one independently:
- Full Flight-Ops Suite: a one-time purchase (currently $24.99) that unlocks the full offline feature set forever: SimConnect telemetry and scoring, Career Mode, performance calculators, the taxi route planner, aircraft persistence and maintenance, the Smart Addon Linker, fuel monitoring, checklists, local flight recording, friends and direct chat, and Virtual Airline tools. One payment, no recurring charge, no expiry.
- Live Network: a recurring subscription (currently $4.99/month or $39.99/year) for the features that require an always-on connection to other pilots: seeing real pilots as live traffic in your sim, voice radio on shared frequencies, remote sim control from the mobile app, and public replay clip sharing. You can subscribe to Live Network with or without owning the Flight-Ops Suite, and cancelling it doesn’t affect anything you bought outright.
Prices are shown in USD on the pricing page and may change for future purchases; a price change never affects something you’ve already paid for.
Direct chat is included in the Flight-Ops Suite on the assumption that it stays cheap to run at scale, which is how it’s built today. If real-world usage ever proves that assumption wrong, we reserve the right to move chat into Live Network so the subscription covers its actual running cost. We’re telling you this now, before it would ever need to happen, rather than surprising anyone later.
04
Free trial
New accounts get a 7-day free trialwith every feature unlocked, starting the day you create your account. No card is required to start the trial and nothing is charged automatically when it ends. If you want to keep using GroundNav past the trial, you make a separate, explicit purchase. If you don’t, Live Network features pause and the rest of the app goes read-only until you buy the Flight-Ops Suite.
05
Payment & billing
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number: Stripe handles that, and our systems only keep a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription ID so we know what you’re entitled to. Prices shown may not include local sales tax or VAT, which Stripe calculates and adds at checkout where required.
Live Network renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You’ll be charged the then-current price for your plan (monthly or annual) unless we’ve told you about a change in advance.
06
Refunds
Purchases are final. We do not offer refunds for the Flight-Ops Suite one-time purchase or for Live Network subscription charges, including partial months or unused time after a cancellation. The 7-day free trial exists specifically so you can try every feature before paying anything. Please use it before you buy.
This no-refund policy has two exceptions, which apply regardless of anything else in this section:
- Where the law that applies to you gives you a right that can’t be waived by contract, for example, if GroundNav is genuinely broken and doesn’t match what was advertised, and we’re unable to fix it within a reasonable time.
- A duplicate charge, a failed purchase that still billed you, or a similar processing error on our end.
If you’re a consumer in the European Union, EU law normally gives you a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase of digital content. Because GroundNav is digital content delivered immediately on purchase, that right ends as soon as delivery begins, but only if you’ve given us your express consent to start immediately and acknowledged that you’re giving up the withdrawal right by doing so. We ask for that confirmation at checkout. If you bought before that confirmation step existed in the checkout flow, contact support@groundnav.app and we’ll sort it out individually rather than relying on this section.
07
Cancelling
You can cancel Live Network at any time from your account’s billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access to Live Network features until the end of the period you already paid for, then it turns off: no partial refund for the remaining time, per the section above. The Flight-Ops Suite is a one-time purchase, so there’s nothing to cancel; it’s yours for as long as GroundNav exists.
08
Acceptable use
Don’t use GroundNav to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other pilots in chat, voice, or profile content.
- Spoof or falsify flight data, telemetry, or your identity in a way meant to deceive other users.
- Attempt to bypass payment, entitlement checks, or rate limits.
- Interfere with the service: scraping, overloading, or reverse-engineering the backend to attack it.
- Upload content you don’t have the rights to, or that’s illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. GroundNav is a simulation companion tool. It is not certified for and must never be used for actual aircraft navigation or flight operations.
09
License verification
The Flight-Ops Suite checks your entitlement with our servers roughly once a day and keeps a cryptographically signed copy of the result on your machine, so the app keeps working for up to a week if you’re offline. That local copy is only ever trusted while it matches what our server actually signed.
Editing, deleting, or replacing that file in an attempt to unlock features you haven’t paid for is a violation of Section 8, and the app is built to detect it. When it does, that account is reported to us automatically.
The first two times we detect this on an account, you’ll get a warning inside the app. A third time suspends the account outright. Suspended accounts don’t get a refund for anything already paid, regardless of when the purchase happened.
10
Your content
When you publish a replay clip, a flight track, a screenshot, or send a chat message, you keep ownership of it. You grant us a license to store, host, and display that content back to you and (for anything marked public: replay clips, VA content) to other GroundNav users, solely to operate the features you used to publish it. We can remove content that violates Section 8, and you can request deletion of your published content by contacting support.
11
Third-party services
GroundNav connects to a number of outside data sources and services to work: VATSIM and IVAO (live ATC/traffic networks), SimBrief (flight planning), Navigraph (navigation data), CheckWX and SkyLink/FAA SWIM (weather and NOTAMs), FlightPlanDatabase, planespotters.net (aircraft photos), Discord (optional VA webhook posts), Stripe (payments), and LiveKit (voice radio). Your use of GroundNav in a way that touches those services is also subject to their own terms. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their availability or accuracy.
12
No warranty
GroundNav is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it accurate and reliable, but flight sim addons, third-party data feeds, and your own PC configuration are outside our control, and we don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that every aircraft/addon combination will be supported.
13
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, GroundNav and its operator aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14
Termination
You can stop using GroundNav and delete your account at any time by contacting support. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate Section 8 or Section 9, or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently, with notice where practical.
15
Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you’re a consumer resident in the EU, this doesn’t take away any mandatory consumer protection your own country’s law gives you. Those protections still apply on top of this section.
16
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as GroundNav changes. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, for signed-in users, note it somewhere you’ll actually see (in-app or by email) rather than silently. Continuing to use GroundNav after a change means you accept the update.
